General Michael Hayden - "Just Work"
General Michael Hayden served in the U.S. Air Force for almost 39 years before retiring to assume duties as the Director of the CIA. General Hayden served in a variety of Command billets to include as the longest serving Director of the National Security Agency (NSA). He was the highest ranking intelligence Officer in the United States Armed forces while he served at NSA.
In the below video he talks about his philosophy "Just Work". It is possible to spend too much time thinking and too little time doing in leadership billets. Have you created a climate where your people are excited to role up their sleeves and "Just Work"? Too often our subordinates are worried about things other than work. If they are too involved in things that are out of their lane, maybe it is time to evaluate the Command Climate and the example we have set for them... .
