More on Combat Cohesion

"The nation that will insist on drawing a broad line of demarcation between the fighting man and the thinking man is liable to have its fighting done by fools and its thinking done by cowards." -- William Francis Butler (1838-1910)

The Gunny recites John Glenn's Motivational Speech at the beginning of Operation Moshtarak just before the marines board the helo and head into the heart of Marjeh (February 13, 2010).

Marine SNCO Leadership in Action. Rated R - Just think - you pay good money to hear this language in the theater - the Gunny provides it for free! God Bless him and his Marines for what they've done, continue to do and what they will do in the weeks and months to come.

Warning to non-Marines for Language

Concerning the language - I've heard 1000% times worse between and among Marines.   The language is all part of the bonding and cohesion that these Marines develop through months of training and living together.

He may offend some civilian who has never been around combat Marines, but I don't believe he didn't offended any of his Marines who were about to go fight and die in a very short time.
He sure as hell motivated them.

We can only hope that some Marine in the future will not have been offended by the Gunny and all those Months and Years of bonding with his Marines will continue to happen. For if our Marines, SNCOs and Officers are "toned down", or worse relieved for being insensitive or politically incorrect, who then will train and lead those Marines to hell and back?
